Smarter Together and the Smart Cities and Communities Network are co-organising an event in conjunction with Lyon Confluence and Grand Lyon to bring H2020 Lighthouse and Follower Cities together.  The Lyon event will be the 8th event organised by the SCC network and will take place on 17-18 of October.

Previous events have focused on replicating solutions from the Lighthouse Cities to Follower cities (Brussels, Stavanger) or sharing experiences and best practices (San Sebastian, Soderbergh, Lisbon, etc.). The format for the Lyon event will be different than previous events, with working sessions designed to allow groups to explore various topics in-depth and co-create a solution to a specific problem. The solution is expected to provide a joint deliverable following a “standardised approach” which will be bankable from both an investment point of view, but also from a city decision-maker viewpoint.

For this event we invite the entire SCC 01 network to a maker session which will be the connecting thread for the two-day event. Particularly, the makers session of the first day will be organized around topics and will use a design-thinking methodology.

Smarter Together is happy to come together at this event with members of the 36 Lighthouse Cities, 42 Follower Cities, members of the Club of Cities (led by Energy Cities), representatives of financial institutions and other stakeholders involved with smart city projects.
