On 2 May 2019, the solemn starting signal for EPNonline (EnergieNutzungsPlan-online = Energy Usage Plan online) was given in Munich at the invitation of the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy. The Free State of Bavaria allows its municipalities to submit applications for energy usage plans online: https://www.enp-online.de/. The event held jointly by Munich, the district of Berchtesgadener Land and the center Digitalisierung.Bayern was under the motto "Energy. Digital. Local."

ENPonline significantly simplifies municipalities‘ bidding for energy use planning and improves the quality of tenders. This ensures high quality and comparability. The city of Munich has been a pioneer in this regard.

Integrated findings from Smarter Together

The findings from the data processing for the Smarter Together area were used to award a contract for an energy use plan for the entire city of Munich. The first part has already been prepared – including the collection and presentation of renewable potential and the distribution of the heat density (see also https://geoportal.muenchen.de/portal/energie/). From this data, future analyses such as priority areas for conducted care will be derived.

Intensive exchange between Munich and Vienna

There is an intensive exchange between the city of Munich and the city of Vienna within Smarter Together on the methods, topics, processing and presentation of energy-related data. The data collection for the energy sector in the Smarter Together area was the starting signal for an expansion to the entire urban area in both Munich and Vienna. As a result, both the professional public and interested parties will in future be provided with information that will help to find a suitable and sustainable energy supply solution for an area or building.
