Munich Holistic Refurbishment
General facts
Counselling for homeowners in order to provide information, support decision-making process and accompany the refurbishment works.
Until end of the project, the refurbished surface in the project consists of five objects and a total of more than 20.000 m². Three of the objects are owned by home owner associations built in the 60ies and 70ies. The other objects are both social housings, one of these is a building of culture heritage, built in 1930.
As the target groups are primarily private home owner associations, intensive advice and support is necessary. The Munich findings and recommendations (refurbishment roadmap) will be extremely useful for replication within Munich and other European cities since approximately 40% of homes in EU countries are owned by private home associations.

Smarter Together Munich is pooling the comprehensive expertise of various involved project partners for consulting owners of residential buildings and targeting the implementation of energy efficient set of measures.
In case of implementing refurbishment measures and renewable energy systems with high potential for energy savings or energy generating, the owners recieve an additional project specific EU funding.
The involved project partners will support all interested owners and home owners associations during the time of the project. The established structure of the counselling team of MGS in the project area will continue this consulting offer even after the project is finished, yet the EU funding is available only during the project period.
